Rebate on Trail Pass before December 1st 2009
For the first time in 7 years, the price of
the regular season trail pass will be going up
by $20 this year.
The 2009-2010 trail permit price established
by the OFSC is $200 before December 1st and $250
after December 1st, 2009. If you liked the EOSC
trails last season, please buy our trail pass to support
your snowmobile club. The money collected helps the club
keep up with the maintenance and improvement of our trail
network. Please purchase your trail pass as soon as
possible to avoid last minute rush for the EOSC volunteer
sellers. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Snowmobile
Driving Lessons for Teenagers 12 years and Older
The snowmobile driving
courses for teenagers 12 years and older will be taught by

Help BRP Ski-doo
fund your local snowmobile club
As they did last year,
BRP is supporting snowmobile clubs across Canada by giving
its members the opportunity to help their local snowmobile
club. How can you help? The rules are the same as last
year, simply fill out the certificate on the BRP website,
http://www.ski-doo.com/en-CA/Promotions/clubsupportprogram.htm,
print it and drop it off to one of our two local BRP dealers
before November 15th….its as simple as that!
Both dealers also have copies of certificates for you to
fill out when you visit them. Don’t forget to insert the
name of the club, ‘Eastern Ontario Snowmobile Club’ on your
certificate. For each card dropped off, BRP will give $10
back to EOSC to help maintain the trail network.
New This Year- The Classic Trail Permit!
As
reported to you last year in our newsletter, the OFSC is
introducing the Classic Trail Permit for 2009-2010. This
permit will be available for sleds that are at least 15
years old (1995 and older) and will cost $125. This type of
permit will be only be available through the District 1
office but forms and instructions are available at your
local dealer.
Mandate of the EOSC
The EOSC is committed to providing the best
trails to its members and visitors. Never forget however,
that the EOSC cannot control “Mother Nature.” The EOSC also
relies on the landowners generously lending a right of
passage for our trails. Please thank them and please
stay on the designated trail! Without these rights
of ways, we have no trails. Without them, and without the
EOSC volunteers, there wouldn’t be any trails at all. Thanks
again to everyone!
EOSC has purchased another groomer this year.
The new tractor will also help the club maintain its 430+km
of trails. EOSC currently owns 3 groomers and will rent a 4th
to help over the weekends.
Thank our farmers and landowners !
A
special thanks to all our landowners! Without their
generosity, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy our favorite winter
past time. As for our local farmers, we just can’t say
enough about them. They are usually recognized as the
supplier of food on everyone's table but to organized
snowmobiling, they also supply the land and give permission
for trails to cross their property. The EOSC, with the OFSC,
continuously support the Ontario Federation of Agriculture
and its farmers every year with their claims to the various
levels of government to ensure a sustainable future for
agriculture. Furthermore, many 'Thank You Farmers' signs
were placed at major trail intersections and at many trail
crossings for snowmobilers and the public to see. It’s a
small thank you to a group of devoted individuals with
big hearts.
Thank you and ride safe!
